Self-assessment questionnaire

The courses Linux fundamentals (Linux 1), Linux System Administration (Linux 2) and Network Administration (Linux 3) prepare for the LPI certification. They have been designed to be followed in order.

However, if you have prior Linux knowledge, you can use the following questionnaire to determine which course you can begin with.

1 I regularly use a Linux workstation. Yes No
2 I have done a Linux installation successfully. Yes No
3 I can configure X environment. Yes No
4 I can use a shell with ease. Yes No
5 I know vi and am comfortable with it. Yes No
6 I can do simple bash scripting. Yes No
7 I master process life cycle and the relation between parent and child processes. Yes No
8 I know the utility of scripts under /etc/rc.d/ and how to modify them. Yes No
9 I know what devices major and minor numbers are. Yes No
10 I compile the kernel regularly. Yes No
